A group of thieves attempted a robbery on a quiet Friday night by drilling into a bank wall and cutting off all CCTV connections. With two bank holidays coming up, they were sure in their timing and intended to unlock the defender safes. However, MIPL’s Security Operations Center (SOC) immediately identified the invasion and acted decisively.

Emergency Response

  • After promptly reviewing the alert, the SOC agent found that robbers had cut the camera wiring, which prevented the live video stream from functioning.
  • The SOC system sent an alert with a picture of a masked person nearby.
  • The SOC agent realized the seriousness of the situation, called the police, and shared the details.

Challenge at the Site

When the police arrived at the bank, there was no obvious evidence of meddling since robbers had drilled through a wall on the other side of the bank. However, the SOC agent, believing the motion and vibration alarms, insisted on a thorough inquiry.

Important Action Taken

  • The SOC agent contacted the branch manager and encouraged him to open the bank for the inspection.
  • The SOC agent insisted police stay on the scene for further investigation.
  • When the bank opened, the police caught the robbers red-handed as they attempted to break into safes.

Final Outcome

The police caught the gang of five robbers on the spot, preventing the heist and safeguarding the bank assets.
